Highlander Proxy

1. Introduction

Highlander Proxy ("we", "our", or "the extension") is an open-source project designed to manage proxy settings within the Google Chrome browser. We believe in absolute privacy, security, and transparency. This policy outlines how we handle your data.

2. Data Collection and Usage

We do not collect, store, share, or sell your personal data.

• No Remote Servers: The extension operates entirely locally on your device. It does not communicate with any external server owned or operated by the developer.
• Proxy Configuration: The proxy details (IP, port, username, password) you enter are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to persist your settings between sessions.
• Authentication: Credentials used for proxy authentication are injected directly into the network request headers as required by the browser. They are never sent to third parties.

3. Permissions Justification

To function correctly and provide advanced features, Highlander Proxy requires specific permissions:

• proxy: Required to modify the browser's proxy settings based on your input.
• webRequest & webRequestBlocking: Essential for the "Silent Auth" feature. We intercept the authentication challenge to provide your stored credentials automatically, preventing repetitive pop-ups.
• browsingData: Required for the "Session Cleaning" feature, allowing users to clear cache and cookies before connecting to a new proxy.
• <all_urls>: The proxy configuration must apply to all websites visited by the user.

4. Open Source Transparency

This project is open-source. We believe that security tools should be verifiable. Users are encouraged to review the source code to verify that no hidden data collection exists.
